The following list outlines the priority ranking system. Middle Plaza is currently only renting to 1A thru 2B priorities.

The eligibility criteria listed below is intended for the affiliate rate program only and is not intended for the Below Market Rate (BMR) Program. For information regarding the BMR program and eligibility guidelines, please click here

1st Priority - Faculty & Eligible Staff

1A

  • Tenure and Non-Tenure Line Professors
  • Senior Fellow Members of the Academic Council at Special Policy Centers and Institutes 
  • Senior Fellows at the Hoover Institution  
  • University Medical Line (UML) Professors
  • Clinician Educator Professors
  • N11 and N99 Staff  
  • Acting, Adjunct, Consulting, and Visiting Professors

1C

  • Other Staff employed by Stanford University or SLAC (includes Retired Faculty on Recalled Duty) 
  • Clinical Instructors
  • Academic Postdoctoral Scholars Paid and Employed by Stanford University

 

2nd Priority

2A

  • Stanford Health Care Employees, Medical Residents, and Fellows

2B

  • Visiting Academics (7) (includes Fellow, Researcher, Scholar, as well as visitors to the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences - CASBS)

 

3rd Priority

  • Current employees or residents within the city limits of Menlo Park

 

Qualifying Employment: must be employed at least 30 hours per week (75% FTE) at or above the minimum wage during the entire lease term. Must be fully paid and employed by Stanford University or Stanford Health Care. Lease term cannot exceed duration of Qualifying Employment. Currently your eligibility priority must fall within categories 1a thru 2b.

The Affiliate also must occupy and maintain the Premises as his or her own principal place of residence.  At any time during Resident(s)’ tenancy, Resident(s) shall provide Landlord with satisfactory evidence that the Affiliate occupies the Premises as his or her own principal place of residence.  Failure of the Affiliate to use the Premises and have them listed as his or her own principal place of residence as verified in the HR and Payroll database shall be a material breach of the Lease by Resident(s) and grounds for termination of the tenancy by Landlord for cause.
